A dedicated music educator, Delea has been teaching for many years, both privately and in the classroom.

She teaches private lessons through Merton Music Foundation, where she has recently joined the board of Trustees.

Delea is passionate about arts integration and the crucial ways in which arts-based learning can be used to enhance comprehension in all subjects.  As a teaching artist with the Metropolitan Opera Guild's choral music initiative, Urban Voices, she designed and implemented her own curriculum with students in kindergarten, grades 1, 2 and 6 at two New York City Schools. As a team leader for New York Cares (New York City's largest volunteer management organisation) Delea created two highly effective music programmes at a transitional family shelter in the Bronx, and at an after-school program in Midtown. She also taught voice lessons for the University of Manitoba's Prep Studies

Having studied the Orff Method with the NYC Orff Schulwerk Association, Delea believes in empowering her students to engage on a personal level by incorporating elements of improvisation and composition into the music making process.
